The Role

As a Senior Engineer on the team, you will serve as a hands-on technical leader, driving the design and implementation of complex full-stack features, scalable Kubernetes-based infrastructure, and enterprise-grade B2B integrations. We are looking for someone who can set engineering standards through clean, maintainable code, robust monitoring and alerting systems, and a commitment to performance and reliability across the platform.


Beyond technical execution, this role will shape the team’s engineering culture—mentoring peers, leading architecture discussions, and championing the adoption of AI tools to boost productivity. They’ll collaborate cross-functionally to solve business-critical challenges, balance technical debt with innovation, and help define the long-term direction of our platform and technology stack.


This role reports directly to VP of Engineering and is fully remote, with occasional travel to New York City for team events.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Design and implement complex full-stack features that serve as architectural patterns for the team

  • Successfully architect and deploy scalable Kubernetes-based infrastructure solutions

  • Build and maintain robust B2B integration systems that handle enterprise-scale data flows

  • Demonstrate measurable productivity improvements through AI tool adoption and evangelism


Platform Excellence

  • Ensure high availability and performance of production systems

  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and debugging systems that enable rapid issue resolution

  • Write clean, maintainable code that serves as a reference for engineering best practices

  • Lead technical design reviews and architecture discussions


Team Impact

  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance

  • Drive engineering process improvements and development workflow optimization

  • Effectively communicate technical concepts to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders

  • Successfully manage technical relationships with enterprise clients during integration projects


Strategic Contribution

  • Identify and propose technical solutions for business-critical challenges

  • Balance technical debt management with feature development priorities

  • Contribute to long-term platform architecture and technology stack decisions

Experience & Skills

Full-Stack Development

  • Expert-level proficiency in Python for backend services and data processing.

  • Strong React experience with modern frontend development practices.

  • Advanced PostgreSQL knowledge including query optimization and database design.

  • Experience with RESTful API design and microservices architecture.


AI and Productivity

  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to accelerate development.

  • Proven track record of implementing AI-assisted workflows that improve team productivity.

  • Experience evaluating and adopting AI-powered development tools to enhance efficiency.


Infrastructure and Operations

  • Strong Kubernetes experience including cluster management, deployment strategies, and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration.

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure as code.

  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.


B2B Integration Expertise

  • Proven experience building enterprise-grade API integrations.

  • Knowledge of authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML, JWT).

  • Experience with data synchronization, webhook systems, and event-driven architectures.

  • Understanding of enterprise security requirements and compliance considerations.


Behavioral Skills: 

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously on ambiguous, high-impact problems.

  • Experience translating complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across both technical and business audiences.

  • Comfortable presenting technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.

  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats and contributing across the stack.

  • Adaptable to evolving business and technical needs as we scale.


Bonus Points If You Have… 

  • Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar AI integration frameworks.

  • Experience interfacing directly with enterprise clients during technical implementations.

  • Background in legal tech, fintech, or other regulated industries.
